RV Shows are Great for Buyers
Take A Look at Your Favorite RV
If you are looking to buy a new RV but don’t know exactly what you want, RV shows are a great place to take a look at a lot of different type RVs. You’ll find everything from Class A diesels to pop-ups and T@Bs to fifth-wheels to travel trailers.
Walk (or climb) inside an RV and see if the bathroom is big enough for you. Or if the layout might work.
There’s only so much you can learn from floor plans. You really need to step inside these RVs and see if your knees will hit the wall while sitting on the toilet. Or if you could comfortably move around in the kitchen while cooking.
You may find out that the RV you had your heart set on just won’t work for you. But maybe you’ll be able to find another floor plan or manufacturer that will work for you.
Ask Questions About RVs
In addition to physically stepping foot inside a lot of potential RVs, you’ll usually have some of the most knowledgeable salesmen from each of the local/regional RV dealers on site and often many manufacturers. This will give you a chance to ask questions and learn about the RV(s) that you are interested in.
Many RV shows also have seminars where you can learn from professionals in the industry. Take advantage of what more experienced RVers and industry professionals have to share with you. People are friendly and love to lend a helping hand.
Financing and Dealer Incentives
Many banks and dealers will have personnel on site to help you arrange financing. The dealers may even have special show pricing and discounts, along with factory incentives, to encourage you to buy.
Please, for the sake of your pocket book, make sure you do research before you go to make sure you are getting the best deal. Once you get in the grips of a salesman, it can get into a high pressure negotiation. Don’t be afraid to walk away or even go talk to other dealers to see if they can give you a better deal. Know what you are willing to spend and don’t let them get you above that.
Accessories, Campgrounds, and Other Exhibitors
The best RV shows have a long list of exhibitors beyond just RV dealers and manufacturers. Find out what accessories you just have to have and didn’t know you had to have.
Or maybe you’ll find out about new RV campgrounds that you will want to explore. Many will offer discounts to show attendees if you schedule a trip on site.
Hint: Make sure your cellphone is fully charged. Check prices on Amazon before you buy anything at the show.
