Reese’s Peanut Butter Brownies Perfect for Tailgating

I admit it, I’ve been on a brownie kick lately. The latest concoction are these Reese’s peanut butter brownies.

You’ll just have to suffer through the gooey yummyness. And I make no apologies to my fellow tailgaters for any extra miles you have to put in this week after devouring the brownies.

There’s something about all the rich, gooey goodness of these Reese’s brownies that scream fall to me! Ah, who am I kidding? Really, they are good any time of the year.

In particular, the brownies also look great for Halloween treats, with the Reese’s Pieces on top.

How to Make the Reese’s Peanut Butter Brownies to Perfection

First, don’t overcook these brownies. These Reese’s Brownies are better a little under-done, keeping the gooey-ness ratio perfect.

Don’t try the toothpick test. You don’t want the toothpick coming out clean. If it does, you’ve left them in the oven for too long!

Second, these are great to make a day or so ahead of the tailgate. Use foil or parchment paper to line the pan. It’ll make it real easy to lift them out of the baking pan and put in a plastic container for transport.

I love these Snapware cupcake/cookie carriers. They are the perfect size for the brownies after you lift them out of the 9×13 baking pan. Just use the flat side instead of the cupcake holder side for the plastic insert.

Third, wait – there is no third hint! Reese’s Peanut Butter Brownies are so easy to make there is no need for a bunch of hints!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare a 9x13 pan by lining with foil and spraying with nonstick cooking spray. Parchment paper also works well.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add sugar, flour, cocoa, and salt.
  4. Add eggs one at a time while mixing ingredients. Add vegetable oil.
  5. Carefully add in peanut butter chips (use slow speed on mixer)
  6. Add half the batter to the prepared pan. Place Reese's peanut butter cups (unwrapped) evenly throughout the batter. Cover with remaining batter (you should have just enough to do this, so don't go eating the batter early).
  7. Spread Reese's Pieces on top.
  8. Bake for 22-25 minutes until they firm up a little. Do not overcook!
  9. Let cool completely before slicing.
